25 Things About Adriane (Me)

I was tagged on facebook (by several friends) to do this and I thought I would also post it on here.

1. I was born in Orange, Orange California and I have moved no less than 12 times in my life (4 states, several moves in those states).

2. I now live in Midland Texas where I have been for 10 years and 8 months. This is the longest that I have ever lived in one place and I am NEVER moving.

3. If we keep to the plan we will have our house paid off right before The Boy will be going on a mission in 9 years!

4. I LOVE animals! I used to want to be a veterinarian.

5. My house is currently the home to 4 cool cats, 2 boys and 2 girls. In order of their coming to live with us, their names are: Gina, Angie, D'Brickashaw and Reggie.

6. I love to bake and I currently run a small "made to order" baking business out of my home. (you can see some pictures of a few of my cakes and cookies in my albums here on facebook)

7. I make more that 50 dozen (that's 600!) tamales every December. Last December I made more than 75 dozen (900). It helps pay for Christmas!

8.I have 3 great kids! The Boy (almost 10), The Princess (almost 7) and The Bug (2 years and 2 months). I LOVE my kids and can't believe how fast they are growing up!

9. I have been married since June of 1998 (I was 19). My son joined our family 10 months later in April (I was 20)!

10. I had a bad case of Post Partum Depression after The Bug was born. It was horrible. I am still on medication for it.

11. I have had 5 surgeries in my life (one oral for impacted wisdom teeth). All but one of those surgeries occurred after I was married and within 3 years of each other. The first surgery happened when I was 7--I had my tonsils taken out. I'll tell you about the others if you ask.

12. We bought our first house 2 years into our marriage. We bought it from my husbands brother and it was the best decision because we got a GREAT deal and I love my house. I am NEVER going to move!

13. Most people already know this: I am a twin. We are identical. She lives in Utah and I miss her.

14. I was painfully shy growing up. I was insecure, I think it was because I was a twin and she was so outgoing. I'm not shy anymore.

15. I am a Girl Scout Leader for The Princess's Daisy troop. I love it. We have a lot of fun. I will continue to be her GS leader for as long as she wants to stay involved in Girl Scouts. I will probably also be leader for The Bug when she is old enough.

16. I am not very good at keeping up with house work, but I recently made a game plan with a schedule and am doing much better at keeping up. Being sick for the last week put a kink in the plan though.

17. People tell me that I am a good leader and I have great ideas. I really don't know what they're talking about. I think that's because I am still a bit insecure about my abilities and/or talents.

18. I think my husband is a great teacher, father and husband. He teaches 1st grade bilingual. I love him oh so much.

19. I have very few days that I feel great. I think I probably have a thyroid problem.

20. I almost always make the birthday cakes/desserts for all my nieces and nephews that live here in town. I love to do it and I love that they love what I make.

21. I can cook, bake, sew, crochet, scrapbook, and draw. I only really take the time to do the cooking and baking with any regularity.

22. I love to learn new things and try new hobbies. When I learned to crochet a couple years ago I made dozens of pot holders. Now they are somewhere at my mom's house. I haven't crocheted in over a year because I haven't had time--I started being a GS leader and being active in PTA.

23. I feel like I'm always running around. I'm a GS leader (our meetings are every Tuesday at my house), involved in PTA (I do the newsletter and help with other things like carnival and book fair), activities committee at church (Bishop wants us to do a ward activity every month!), bake for other people (the holidays are my busiest time), and running a house, grocery shopping, taxiing kids, running errands, etc.

24.I love to read, but I end up watching TV more often because I don't feel like I have enough time to devote to the book. I am in a book club though.

25. I was the Freshman officer for Future Homemakers of America in high school.
