Reginald McPhee or Reggie

I would like to introduce you all to Reggie. He is the king of the castle, or at least he thinks so. Reggie came to us via the next door neighbor who begged me to take this kitten off her hands. Her daughter's cat had kittens and she gave one to my neighbor. Neighbor already had a dog and couldn't deal with a kitten, hence reggie (our FOURTH cat) joined the family.

Reggie is a very loving cat. His motor starts purring as soon as you so much as look at him. He has this sort of regal look on his face that maked him look a bit snobbish and self important, but deep down he just wants some lovin.

He is also called Reginald McPhee when I am yelling at him to get off of the table or when I just feel like making his name longer and more self-important sounding.

Reggie is an interesting cat. He likes to drink water from the bath tub. In fact, we stopped using a water dish altogether because it's just easier to put a little water in the tub every night. (All of the other cat's decided they liked his tub drinking style and did a copy-cat) HA, get it, Copy CAT? I slay me. No really. OK, OK, come back, don't turn off your computer. I know, it was lame!

When we left for our trip to Utah at the end of December we left a generally slender, sleek, handsome Reggie. We came back to a still sleek and handsome, yet somewhat rotund Reggie. Apparently he is an emotional eater and just couldn't handle the betrayal of our being gone for 9 days! He isn't too fat, but he is not as slender as he once was.

I fear that it will interfear with his personal life. All the female felines of the neighborhood might snub their noses at a less than slender cat of the male persuasion. Oh, yeah. I guess it doesn't really matter. He doesn't have those urges anymore anyway--to put it delicately.

There you have it, folks! Reggie (Reginald McPhee). The real "fat cat" of the household!

yeah, same thing happened to our slender, handsome cat when we went out to Texas from Utah, only we were gone a lot longer than 9 days because someone convinced us to extend out stay...We have put Teancum on a restricted diet, no more automated feeder, just 1 cup of food a day in three servings (1/3 cup each) :)
P.S. I find it interesting that my word verification for this post is exsess...

I think it is so funny that your cat drinks from the bathtub!

All hail Sir Reginald McPhee, king of the castle!

He doesn't just drink from the tub--he sits in it until someone comes into the bathroom and then meows insistently that we put some water in there for him to drink!
