I took all three kids to the dentist on Monday. Ashlee did great. She likes to brush her teeth and have her teeth brushed so she didn't cry or anything!
Kevin and Shaylee are a bit nervous about the dentist. They don't like biting on the square thing for x-rays, or the foamy stuff in their mouth, or pretty much all the stuff I don't like about going to the dentist. It's uncomfortable--and I have a major gag reflex so all that stuff makes me feel sick.
Also, they both had to deal with having cavities filled/caps put on 6 months ago when they went to the dentist, so they are a bit leery of all that. Not leery enough to avoid more cavities though!
Last time (6 months ago) Kevin had 6 cavities, now he has 4 more!
Shaylee had 3 or 4 cavities and now she has 3 or 4 more!
I am just glad that their dental coverage is good and I don't have to pay for all of these
cavities!
These aren't normal, in the molar type cavities either, they are all in between their teeth! I guess we need to work harder at flossing.
I don't get it. I didn't get my first cavity until I was 25 and had given birth to 2 children already. I just figured that having kids leached away some of my tooth strengthening calcium or something. I don't remember being the best at remembering to brush my teeth as a kid so I always figured that I had been blessed with strong teeth.
Apparently my children did not get my strong teeth!
