So, lets talk about the weather.
Hurricane Ike is moving it's way closer and closer to Texas' Gulf Coast. I think that Ike is part of why the weather has been how it is here in West Texas even though we are about as far from the Gulf Coast as you can get in Texas. It has been overcast and rainy and drizzly and cool since yesterday. I LOVE IT.
I know, West Texas is not the best place for a rainy day lover like me to live. We don't get them very often, and the high of 72 for today is also an oddity. I love this kind of weather, I think it goes back to the two years that my family lived in Washington state when I was a kid. It instilled in me a lifelong love of rainy days, cool weather and overcast skies. I'll take days like this over hot, sunny summer afternoons any time.
Some people just don't understand my love of a good rainy, overcast day. To me it is the perfect setting for staying home and curling up in some comfy jammies or sweats, reading a good book--that's not always what I get with 3 kiddos to take care of, but it's what I envision when I open the curtains to see a drizzly day. A day for a good nap. A day to open the windows and enjoy the fresh, moist air. Moist air is something to appreciate in our dry, arid West TX climate!
Now that I'm done rambling about my favorite kind of weather, what's yours? What do you love the most? Are you a summer sun person, or a spring showers person, or a winter wonderland person. Or are you like me and love the drizzly overcast fall-like days that hint at winter not too far around the corner?

I do like the rain, more like I love the smell of rain in Utah. the wet dust smell. But I would have to say that my favorite time of year is winter. Maybe because of the lights, my birthday or the fact that my parents always made home made ice in the winter.
