Well, the new school year is under way and with that comes Girl Scout Recruitment. I just spent an hour and a half at my kids' school at the GS rally and signed on two new Daisy's to our troop. That put us up to 6. Not a bad number. My friend, who so graciously is acting as assistant leader for me went to her daughters' school for their rally and signed up 5! WOW! We are up to 11 and there is another girl interested in signing up who is not in school yet, but will turn 5 in Nov. That is what my friends' daughter did last year so we are probably going to let this girl do the same thing.
Now all I have to do is figure out if my house can stay standing with a Daisy troop meeting every Tuesday night with so many little girls.
I am excited to have so many because the more girls there are, the more parents there are to help so I won't have to do so much on my own. Although I tend to put a lot of that on myself. This is going to be a big year---it is the first year that Daisy's are allowed to sell GIRL SCOUT COOKIES. I know, those three words just make your mouth start to water. It's ok, I won't tell anyone. Your secret is safe with me. Just be careful, you don't want to short circuit your keyboard!
So, onward and upward toward a new Girl Scout year. I am feeling much more confident and prepared than I was last year!

Some of the best times of my childhood were spent in Girl Scouts and selling cookies :o)
We are hosting a "cookie sale" to help support a family that has four small children (all under age six) and two parents who were critically injured in a small plane accident. (The mom, Steph, is a blogger and pretty much the ultimate domestic goddess.)More on the Nielsen family at http://cjanerun.com
If you would like to help, feel free to visit http://xomissl2.blogspot.com
Thanks!!
Wow, good luck with your cookie sale. If I was in AZ I would donate some cookies for you. I bake for people to make extra money. Thanks for writing!
I actually have some copycat recipes for GS cookies! fresh out of the oven rather than packed and shipped, and cheaper too. Hope ya sell lots though, it's not like when we were kids and told to knock door to door anymore.
