So This is Why. . .

. . . I named my blog "I must be crazy".

I know that there are women out there that can do tons of stuff and just keep going and going and going. I don't feel like I'm one of those women, but lately I have to be. Girl Scouts is gearing up to start and my troop is up to about 11 girls. We are going to probably do the Fall nut and chocolate sale to jump start our troop money. That is something to get going and I don't have time to slack off.

Yesterday I got a call from the woman at church who oversees the Cub Scout program and it is time for popcorn sales to begin. She was absolutely swamped with everything that has been put on her shoulders to do as well as being a grandma and wanting to visit grandkids + a new granddaughter who is having health problems. She asked me to please help her with popcorn sales. I know that when someone calls and asks me for help that they need it and they called me because they feel like they can depend on me. I like to be dependable so I said SURE.

After that I went to parent night at the Gifted campus that the boy goes to 2 days a week. When I signed in after his homeroom teacher spoke to all of us I noticed that there were 4 or 5 people who had signed up to be volunteers in the class, but no one had signed up to be room mother. How are the volunteers going to know what needs to be done if there isn't someone at the head of the planning, hence the need for a room mother. So what do you think happened? Yep, you guessed it! I signed up to be room mother for the boy's homeroom gifted campus classroom.

I am also in charge of the newsletter at the elementary school that needs to go out every 6 weeks. I think that might be fun, actually. I am also on the activities committee at church and need to help plan 1 activity each month for everyone to join in and have some fellow-shipping. It is generally not too bad, but the Christmas party is coming up.

I wouldn't sign up to help with things if I didn't think that I was capable and that I would enjoy it, but have I mentioned that I'm tired? The Bug is taking a nap right now and I think that I am going to join her even though there are things that need to get done. Things like the 3-D Duckie cake and three dozen duckie cookies that I am making for my friends' 1 year olds' birthday party tomorrow. Well, tonight is the kiddo's night to stay up late so I can't go to bed early anyway so I guess I can make the cake and cookies later. Off I go. . .
