The Princess is an interesting girl. Seven years ago I went into labor with her the day before she was due and she made her appearance the next morning right on her due date! This was very special to me because I was scheduled for a c-section the day after her due date. I had had a cesarean with the Boy due to some complications and was told by my OB that the only way that I would avoid a repeat c-section would be if I went into labor on my own. I prayed through my whole pregnancy with the Princess that my body would cooperate and that I would be able to go into labor on my own. I did NOT want another cesarean!
The Princess entered the world at 12:14 pm on March 20th, 2002. It was a Wednesday. She was gorgeous and her eyes were so big. She only weighed 6 lbs. 12.5 oz. That was quite a downgrade to The Boys 8 lbs. 9 oz. I had been told to expect her to be similar in size to her brother but she was no where close and she definitely didn't have his big round basketball head!
This is The Princess's year to have a Birthday party with friends (my kids get them on their odd years starting at 5 years old) instead of just the family get together. She is going to have a horse party. She LOVES horses. Since her birthday fall during Spring Break though, her party will not be until the 27th (a slumber party, what am I thinking!)
We will be having fun on her birthday though. Tomorrow morning we will head on a road trip to Fort Worth (about 5 hours to drive) and spend the night in a hotel before coming home Saturday night. Daddy is gone to the Grand Canyon with a youth trip this whole week so my friend Amanda is going to come with us instead.
We will have two days of fun and restaurants. My kids love eating out and staying in a hotel (Holiday Inn Express) is always a fun treat. This time will be extra special since up to now the nicest they have stayed in is a Motel 6!
We will visit the Fort Worth Museum of Science & History, National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame (the two are in the same building at the moment), the IMAX theater, Log Cabin Village, and the Fort Worth Zoo.
Who knows what else we may find to do, but I'm sure there are many fun things all over the Fort Worth Area. Amanda and I are contemplating going out at Midnight to buy Twilight when it goes on sale, but due to having 3 kids with us we'll probably have to wait on it till Saturday.
The hubby will have a quiet day on Saturday here at home (he returns from the Grand Canyon late Friday night) before we get home late on Saturday night. That will be good relaxing time for him before we get back from our trip. Wish we could all go together, but I'm sure this will be fun--and having Amanda along is surely going to help me not go crazy keeping track of 3 kiddo's! In any case, we will all be glad to see daddy again since he's been gone since Monday.
We are all excited for this trip and I can't believe that my little girl is going to be 7 tomorrow! They grow up so fast--The boy is coming up on 10!

Why doesn't Amanda (or you, whichever) just go out and buy both your copies? It took me a minute to realize the movie must be coming to DVD, at first I was thinking wait a minute that book came out years ago.
